DETAILS:
The Bradford Sling was invented by Professor David Sharpe OBE in the aftermath of the tragic Bradford City fire of May 1985. 56 people died and over 250 people were badly injured. Faced with the need to treat multiple trauma patients Sharpe and his team at the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit created a revolutionary sling that minimised pressure when supporting raised limbs. The simple but effective device is now used across the world having helped many thousands of patients.
